OMG, So many search tools, So many RSS feeds. I really did get nervous about this assignment. I looked at four search tools for RSS feeds. The one I liked the most was Technorati. I know that it was not the one I have an account with. I liked this one because it was an easy outline, and read. I can navigate it better. Blogline and Google Blog are tied for second in line for me. Then Topix search tool was good and my third choice. To me Google was confusing for me. I found some useful feeds that can help me with some activities in the classroom for the school year. I got a lot of ideas for my classroom set up for this year also. There were ways to find feeds I find that in Google by typing in a subject you could get just the things relating to that subject. This is another assignment I spent almost four hours on.

The things I like about RSS are they are really simple to use and apply to my reader. I like the idea of have my news updates readily to read and see daily. I see how it can be very useful in the classroom for the teacher to use. I can be used as an news update to show what is going on in the world. Students, teachers, and other users can read updated news reports and comment on the story. I my personal life I can almost take the place of the newspaper. RSS can be used by the teachers in the classroom when the teacher has marked the sites they want, then the computer can be set up as an reading center.

These are just a few of the images I liked. It was really fun to look for the different images to work with. I can see a lot of things that they can be used for. Students in the classroom will get a kick out of looking for images that can represent them on their blogs. I really had a hard time leaving this site. I can't wait to get more images to use on my blogs.

This is another word for peaceful. It is also the name of my grandchild. She is the apple of both her Nana and Papaw. She really makes our day when we see her. These letters show the many moods of Serenity. This is the happy mood of Serenity. I can see how this can be used a tool for the students to show their creativeness. I can see using flickr mashups in my personal blog to make it more appealing to the readers. I love being able to share pictures online . My sister-in-law and I take pictures at our husband's family reunion then we compile them to make a side show for the rest of the family to see. Now we can do this without taking up so much space and time doing it by e-mail we can just pull them from the Flickr. Plus it is saving space for things we would like to do on the computer.

I created an account for Flickr. It was very easy to do. I explored the site as well. It has some lovley pictures and I hope to use them from time to time as I blog my friends and family. It was easy uploading the pictures from my computer and as time goes by I will upload more of my family pictures. I think that it a good way to keep pictures of things that the students do in the classroom, as well as family pictures and I can see how I will keep most of the pictures taken at our family reunions. My sister -in - law and I are working on video of this year's reunion and I have already e-mailed her my flickr address. I will use Flickr as away to show the parents what we are doing in the classroom on the blog I plan to do this year. It was hard for me to upload to my blog as you can see.

WOW! I have spent almost all day on one site. That site was last.fm. It was all about music and more. I liked the site it gave chooses of music that I have not heard since I was in high school. I enjoyed seeing some of the video that went with the music. I disliked the fact that you have to have at least 15 items in your library before you can play your music. The application that I see you can use it in the classroom is when the students are doing a power point they can use music they have downloaded in their account. To use in the power point. I really loved this site.

In this world of new technology. We can do lots of things on line. We find telephone numbers and address to places. We can book hotel reservations and find fun places to go and do. Web 2.0 is a great tool for learning and education. After reading the perspectives for this item. I must agree that it has made the world flat. We as educators must be willing to use technology to bring the world into our classroom for the students. School 2.0 is needed and should be used to make this possible. In the future schools and libraries will make a big difference for all. It is up to all of us to ensure that the students are exposed to the technology that can help the students reach the knowledge they need in the future to grow in the use of Web 2.0.
